We had a great relationship with the owners and subcontractors, and that relationship was key for us.
Kelly and Cory worked side-by-side with Steeple Pointe contractors during the building process. It’s no surprise that the couple was hands-on in the design phase, but they were able to be surprisingly involved during construction, too.
“Steeple Pointe has amazing subcontractors,” Kelly said. “I would stop by the house as they were doing carpentry or lights, and the guys on-location were the best to work with.”
The subs helped keep Kelly and Cory in the loop on progress, and would frequently ask about custom features they’d like to add during the build.
“They’d tell me what they were working on, and that would get me thinking about what was important to me in that particular space,” Kelly said. When the carpenter was working on a pantry, she shared dimensions of a mini-fridge so shelving could start above that. Kelly also asked for – and received – a shoe rack in the Utility Closet, among other tweaks.
“I wasn’t expecting the subcontractors to be so willing to work with us,” Cory said. “They cared about the quality of their work, and they cared to ask what we’d like to have done.”
Cory and Kelly perfected the home design as the build moved along, and they’re happy to have a design that’s perfect for the family.
“The quality of the end product was amazing,” Kelly said.
